For Air Niugini's in-flight magazine I documented the Melanesian Festival held in July in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea. A meeting of cultures from all over the region, the festival celebrated the most coveted arts and traditions of the different tribes from fire eating to elaborate costume work.

During my years of exploring the Baltic for Lonely Planet there was always one destination that got stuck in my head: a super secret bunker in the pine forests of Latvia's Gauja National Park. Decommissioned in 2003, it's now open for tourists and provides incredible insight into the Cold War years and the austere Soviet mindset.
